Jumaila Adil Receives International Recognition for Malayalam Nursing

Perinthalmanna: Jumaila Adil, a nursing professional based in Australia, has received international recognition for her contribution to Malayalam nursing literature.

Her work, “Nurses’ Struggles During the COVID Crisis,” received recognition from the Nurses and Midwives Association of New South Wales, Australia.

Jumaila wrote the piece based on the experiences and challenges faced by nurses during the COVID-19 pandemic. It was published in Kerala in a nursing publication. She has been working in New South Wales since 2020.

A native of Perinthalmanna, Kerala, Jumaila completed her nursing studies in India before moving abroad. She is the daughter of Nawodaya Udaya and Pravarthaka Kayyum of the Malayali Mission and Malayali community in Australia. Her husband is Irfan, and the couple has a daughter, Imma.

The recognition highlights the contribution of Malayali nurses working overseas and brings attention to Malayalam writing that documents the experiences of healthcare professionals.
